Research Overview

My research advances energy- and risk-aware routing for autonomous drone fleets by blending combinatorial optimization, metaheuristics, and machine learning–based forecasts to tackle limited battery capacity and strategic recharging stops. I first developed hybrid metaheuristic algorithms for multi‑depot routing with rechargeable reusable vehicles under nominal conditions. To handle unexpected vehicle failures, I then designed a dynamic rescheduling auction algorithm that detects in‑field failures and reroutes missions on the fly to prevent disruptions.

I am now working on integrating graph neural network–based predictions of icy road formation into a unified prediction-and-routing framework. This adaptive approach fuses real-time weather and road-condition forecasts with routing decisions to proactively address the effects of changing weather on winter road safety. My future interests include swarm intelligence and the study of emergent behavior in multi‑robot systems.
